Goose drummer Cotter Ellis brought an all-star cast to Brooklyn Bowl in New York City on Saturday for his “Jingle Jamboree.” The holiday concert saw next-gen jam band players joining Cotter for two cover-filled sets with takes on songs from the catalogs of Jerry Garcia, the Grateful Dead, The Allman Brothers Band and more.

With Cotter behind the kit, the “house band” also included Eggy bassist Mike Goodman along with Dogs In A Pile guitarist Brian Murray and keyboardist Jeremy Kaplan. That configuration opened the show with Thundercat‘s “Them Changes” followed by Billy Preston‘s “Nothing From Nothing.”

Connecticut musician Kiran Edwards and All Night Boogie Band vocalist Jessica Leone then joined in for The Band‘s “Up On Cripple Creek” before Mike Goodman’s Eggy bandmate guitarist Jake Brownstein came aboard for the Jerry Garcia Band-covered, Norton Buffalo number “Ain’t No Bread In The Breadbox.”

Brownstein stuck around for the Phish-covered, TV On the Radio song “Golden Age” ahead of Couch vocalist Tema Siegel leading the band through Vulfpeck‘s “Christmas In L.A.” and John Lennon‘s “Jealous Guy.” Leone returned for Aretha Franklin‘s “Rock Steady” ahead of first set closer “Hold Me.”

Set two got underway with Little Feat‘s “All That You Dream” featuring Leone. The second set also saw Cotter’s bandmate Nico Suave from Burlington, Vermont Led Zeppelin tribute Nico Suave & the Mothership belting the Zep classic “Whole Lotta Love.”

Burlington-based guitarist Lara Cwass and All Night Boogie band bassist Evan Barker joined for The Allman Brothers’ “Whipping Post” ahead of “Stormy Monday,” the latter seeing Goodman back on the four string. Round two came to a close with Grateful Dead tunes “New Speedway Boogie” and “Loose Lucy” ahead of a “Loving Cup” encore.
