Watch Goose Close Out Austin Run: Full Show Pro-Shot Video

Goose concluded a two-night run in Austin, Texas at the Scoot Inn on Friday, November 12. The Connecticut quintet recently shared full-show, pro-shot video of their Austin closer which includes Goose favorites along with covers from Father John Misty, Credence Clearwater Revival and The Guess Who.

Goose got the show underway with a well-jammed “Drive”,” which featured an atmospheric jam capped off by some strong soloing from guitarist Rick Mitarotonda. All told “Drive” stretched to nearly 20 minutes before heading into “Tumble.” The band then delivered their cover of Father John Misty’s “I’m Writing A Novel” off his 2012 album Fear Fun, Josh Tillman’s debut album under the Father John Misty moniker. “SOS” then prefaced a pairing of “726” and a 22-minute “The Empress Of Organos” to close out the first frame.

The five-piece launched the second set with the Creedence Clearwater Revival classic “Green River.” Goose then reeled off substantial versions of freshly debuted songs “The Old Man’s Boat” and “Rockdale” before embarking on a +16-minute “White Lights.” The latter kicked off a set-closing segment that also included staple “Rosewood Heart” — from the band’s 2016 debut studio album, Moon Cabin — and newer song “Flodown” from the quintet’s 2021 LP Shenanigans Nite Club. Goose returned to the stage for an encore of The Guess Who 1970 rocker “American Woman” sung by percussionist Jeff Arevalo.
