Global Citizen Festival To Feature Metallica, Eddie Vedder, Cat Stevens & More

The Global Citizen Festival will return to the Great Lawn of Central Park in New York City on September 24. Kendrick Lamar, Rihanna, Metallica, Eddie Vedder, Yusuf/Cat Stevens, Chris Martin, Selena Gomez, Major Lazer, Usher and Ellie Goulding have signed on to perform at this year’s event.

Once again, tickets can be earned by completing activities that will draw attention to the plight of global education and further Global Citizen’s goal of ending extreme poverty by 2030. To date, the actions by Global Citizen’s community have resulted in 130 commitments and policy announcements that will affect the lives of 656 million people by 2030. This year’s festival will be broadcast live on cable network MSNBC and streamed via YouTube.

Celebrities Chelsea Handler, Hugh Jackman, Deborra-lee, Seth Meyers, Neil Patrick Harris and Salma Hayek have signed on as hosts. A limited number of VIP tickets will also be available starting Thursday, July 28.
