To start off 2019, Ghost-Note joined up with Lettuce to support the fan-favorite funk act’s Northeast leg of tour. The music collective headed by Snarky Puppy‘s percussion section of Nate Werth and Robert “Sput” Searight has recently released a live video of “Swagism” from their stop at Indianapolis’ Vogue Theatre on January 15.

Highlighting the group’s infectious upbeat energy, during the show, the group laid out a 10-minute rendition of Swagism title track. In addition to bandleaders Werth and Searight, the group was complemented by bassist MonoNeon, keyboardists Xavier Taplin and Vaughn “V-Keys” Henry, guitarist Peter Knudsen and multi-instrumentalists Jonathan Mones and Sylvester Onyejiaka.

With dynamic percussion backing the production, the take on “Swagism” melded easy-going grooves with explosive solos and syncopated, dramatic pauses. Midway through the number, the band switches tones, falling into a more classic funk style, slowly building riffs on top of one another with guidance from Sput.
