Genesis Band Mates Phil Collins & Mike Rutherford Reunite In Berlin

Longtime Genesis band mates Phil Collins and Mike Rutherford shared the stage for the first time in 12 years on Friday night. The reunion took place during Collins’ set at Olympiastadion in Berlin after Rutherford’s Mike & The Mechanics band opened the evening.

Rutherford added to the Genesis classic “Follow You Follow Me” towards the beginning of Collins’ performance. Phil is in the middle of his “Still Not Dead Yet Live” tour. The pair last performed together during Genesis’ “Turn It On Again” tour in 2007. Last year, the duo’s Genesis band mate Tony Banks discussed the possibility of a Genesis tour as part of a 2018 interview and said he would be open to such a reunion. “Follow You Follow Me” was the first single off Genesis’ 1978 album …And Then There Were Three…, the group’s first LP as a trio after the departure of guitarist Steve Hackett.
