Garrett Dutton, a.k.a.G. Love, revealed he would be throwing his own festival during an appearance on The JamBase Podcast earlier this year. Today, G. Love confirmed details of the inaugural Cape Cod Roots & Blues Festival, which will be held on the shores of Nauset Beach in Orleans, Massachusetts on September 15.

The one-day event will be headlined by G. Love & Special Sauce in celebration of the band’s 25th anniversary. Singer-songwriter Citizen Cope, Hawaii-based outfit Ron Artis II & The Truth and funk act Ripe round out the lineup for the first-ever Cape Cod Roots & Blues Festival. “Orleans, Massachusetts has been our home for seven years now and we have fallen completely in love with the town, the people, and the beautiful pristine nature which surrounds the Cape. From surfing to paddle boarding, fishing and bird watching, hiking, biking, eating, drinking – the Cape has it all,” said Dutton in a press release announcing the festival.

G. Love curated the lineup with a focus on acts that have “personally resonated with him musically.” Dutton worked with Orleans resident Mike McNamara, owner and co-founder of The Hog Island Beer Co., to produce the festival. Hog Island Beer Co. will be the exclusive beer provider for the event and will host a beer garden at Cape Cod Roots & Blues Festival.
