Last night the Electric Factory hosted an official Project Pabst Philadelphia after party performance by Vulfpeck. The Michigan-based funk act was joined by a number of guests during their show, including regular collaborator Antwaun Stanley and a range of horn players.
Mark Dover on clarinet, Sam Greenfield on alto and baritone saxophone and clarinet, as well as Swift Technique members Brian Blaker on tenor and soprano saxophone, Ian Gray on trombone and Greg Rosen on trumpet were brought on and off stage throughout the typically energetic performance.
The set began with Dover and Greenfield on “Outro” and also included takes on “Fugue State,” guitarist/drummer Theo Katzman’s just-released new single “Hard Work” and the crowd-participation fueled, full horn section-aided “Back Pocket.”
Stanley was welcomed to the stage to engage the audience with “1612” and “Funky Duck” and soothed the crowd with rendition of Al Green’s “Simply Beautiful.” “Wait For The Moment,” highlighted by a solo by bassist Joe Dart, was the last song to feature Stanley. Dart also starred on “Beastly” and the horns helped out on the show closing “It Gets Funkier.” The entire set was captured by videographer Chris Cafiero, watch below:
