Full Show Video: Spafford Busts Out ‘Eminence Front’ Cover In Atlanta

On Saturday night Spafford was in Atlanta for a headlining gig at Terminal West. The rising jam-act offered up a two-set show that saw them offer up a pair of bust outs, as well as mixing some newer material with setlist staples.

The four-piece band got the night underway by dusting off their cover of “Eminence Front.” The tune from The Who’s 1982 release It’s Hard has only been known to be played once prior during at their New Year’s Eve ’15 – ’16 in Scottsdale, Arizona – a span of 155 shows. “The Remedy” followed with Spafford looking to a couple of new songs next as they paired “Lovesick Melody” > “Soil” – both of which were debuted late last year. After takes on “Slip And Squander” and “Mind’s Unchained” the band brought their first frame to a close with an unfinished take on “Leave The Light On.”

Spafford started their set second of the night they way they ended their first by finishing off their take on “Leave The Light On.” After “Beautiful Day” the band dug in for a lengthy segued-filled run of “America” > “Palisades” > “Weasel” > “The Reprise.” The band’s second bust out of the night came next as they offered up their first take on The Sneaker Pimp’s “Six Underground” since April of last year. It was their third ever attempt at the tune from the English trip-hop act’s 1996 release Becoming X, which they originally debuted all the back in 2014. The band brought their night to a close with a two-song encore offering up another new tune with just their second version of “So Into You” and the setlist staple “Ain’t That Wrong.”
