By Andy Kahn May 15, 2016 2:22 pm PDT

This week it was revealed that the 2016 Bonnaroo SuperJam will be led by jazz saxophonist Kamasi Washington. The veteran Los Angeles-based musician gained notoriety last year after releasing his critically acclaimed The Epic triple-LP and contributing to Kendrick Lamar’s highly praised album To Pimp A Butterfly. For Sunday Cinema, below is Kamasi Washington’s complete pro-shot set from last year’s EFG London Jazz Festival in England.

Billed as “Heart, Soul & Spirit: A Tribute To Tennessee” the SuperJam will feature Washington joined by Miguel, GRiZ, Nathaniel Rateliff & the Night Sweats, Devonté Hynes, Eric Krasno & The Shady Horns, Vulfpeck, The Internet, Chicano Batman, Lizzo and more to be announced. The set will take place on the Saturday night of this year’s Bonnaroo from 12:30 a.m. – 2:30 a.m.

“I’m so excited and honored to lead this year’s SuperJam,” said Washington. “Such a cool experience to collaborate with all of these amazing artists in celebration of some of the greatest music legends from Tennessee, at one of the coolest festivals in the country – it’s going to be a crazy party!”

In the below video, filmed and shared by Boiler Room, Washington can be seen fronting The Next Step composed of keyboardist Brandon Coleman, trombonist Ryan Porter, bassist Miles Mosley, vocalist Patrice Quinn, drummers Tony Austin and Ronald Bruner Jr. and flutist (and Kamasi’s father) Rickey Washington. The ensemble performed a number of songs from The Epic including “Change Of The Guard,” “Final Thought” and “The Rhythm Changes.” Watch the the full set from Barbican Centre in London from last November here:
