Full Show Video: Dweezil Zappa Brings Cease & Desist Tour To The Capitol Theatre

Guitarist Dweezil Zappa recently concluded the first portion of his Cease & Desist Tour, aka Dweezil Zappa Plays Whatever The F@%K He Wants! This past Friday Dweezil brought his Frank Zappa tribute band to The Capitol Theatre in Port Chester, New York for a show containing a bevy of new additions to the repertoire and bust outs added to the setlist for the tour which celebrates 50 years since the release of his father’s first album. High-quality full show video of the entire performance has surfaced on YouTube.

“Transylvania Boogie,” “It Can’t Happen Here,” “You’re Probably Wondering Why I’m Here,” “Lemme Take You To The Beach,” “Holiday In Berlin, Full Blown” and “Eat That Question” were among the songs played by Dweezil Zappa in Port Chester that had their Dweezil/Zappa Plays Zappa debuts earlier in the tour. The show in Port Chester also included “Help, I’m A Rock” which earlier in the tour had been trotted out for the first time since 2006, plus “The Orange County Lumber Truck,” “The Illinois Enema Bandit” and “You Didn’t Try To Call Me” which earlier in the month had been busted out for the first time since 2012 as well as “Catholic Girls” and “Keep It Greasey” which had been shelved since 2010 before finding homes in setlists this tour.

Additionally, Dweezil and the band treated fans at The Cap to their insane ’80s medley as well as a cover of Johnny “Guitar” Watson’s “I Want To Ta-Ta You Baby.” The guitarist also shows off his skills on the Frank classic “Inca Roads” and the Shut Up ‘N Play Yer Guitar workout “Five-Five-Five.” Also of note, the band was joined by guitarist James Santiago on “Cosmik Debris” and vocalist Adam Minkoff on the Johnny Watson cover. Yesterday, Dweezil announced a massive fall tour.
