Phish had yesterday off after wrapping up a Summer Tour opening two-night stand in Bend, Oregon on Wednesday and will play next at Shoreline Amphitheatre in Mountain View, California tonight. This evening’s show will be the band’s 14th appearance at the famed Bay Area venue, and today we’re taking a look back at the first time Phish graced the Shoreline stage when they opened for Santana in 1992.

One of several opening sets performed that summer opening for the legendary guitarist and his band, Phish and Santana took over Shoreline on August 29, 1992 marking the former’s first time playing the amphitheatre. Pro-shot footage with soundboard audio capturing the five song set which featured a closing “You Enjoy Myself” that contained “Oye Como Va” and “Under Pressure” teases is presented below:

While Carlos Santana and Phish did not pair up at Shoreline in 1992, Phish has shared the Shoreline stage with two members of the Grateful Dead as well as Neil Young. While we’ll see what’s in store tonight, check out their past collaborations with Phil Lesh, Bob Weir and Young below:
