This week Phish bassist Mike Gordon revealed plans to embark on a 15 date Fall Tour with his eponymous quintet. Gordon will also appear with guitarist Scott Murawski, percussionist Craig Myers, keyboardist Robert Walter and drummer John Kimock at the Catskill Chill Music Festival the weekend of September 23 – 25 in Lakewood, Pennsylvania.
For this week’s edition of Full Show Friday the focus is on Cactus and his band from their tour stop last year at the House Of Blues in Cleveland on June 14. Gordon’s songs that have entered the Phish live repertoire that were played that night included “Say Something” in the first set, as well as “Yarmouth Road,” “How Many People Are You” and “Meat” in set two – which also saw a rendition of the band’s rarity “Spock’s Brain.”
The show also featured Gordon’s solo material, such as the opening “Take It As It Comes” which was written with Murawski and several cuts from his 2014 album Overstep like “Long Black Line,” “Jumping,” “Face” and “Tiny Little World.” There’s also a cover of Fiona Apple’s “Sleep To Dream” and his longtime solo staple “Andelmans’ Yard.”
Gordon and Murawski’s instruments light up and fans get into the action with the EEL at the front of the stage during the show. Watch how it went down here:
