Full Show Friday | KVHW 15 Years Ago Today

The ridiculously-talented supergroup KVHW featured Steve Kimock on guitar, Ray White of the Frank Zappa Band on guitar and vocals, Zero bassist Bobby Vega and drummer Alan Hertz. The quartet only toured between 1998 and 1999, but left a wake of fans and dropped jaws in its wake during their brief time together. For today’s Full Show Friday we share an on-stage recording from a KVHW show that took place fifteen years ago today at Stafford Lake in Novato, CA featuring guest guitarist Terry Haggerty.

KVHW’s performance features a heady mix of original tunes, songs from Kimock’s repertoire and a few covers thrown in for good measure including a take on Frank Zappa’s “City Of Tiny Lites” and the 1970 funk/R&B classic “Express Yourself.” We should note that this particular set is an important one for JamBase as our company’s co-founder, Andy Gadiel, moved to the Bay Area on this day fifteen years ago. He attended this set before heading to his new home and it served as his welcome to the area he still calls home. Happy BAnniversarY, Andy!
