Georgia rockers Widespread Panic wrapped the first leg of their current Fall Tour with a performance last night at the St. Augustine Amphitheatre in St. Augustine, Florida. The band skipped a setbreak at the second of two-sold out shows, delivering one massive, over two hour and 45 minute set Saturday evening.

“Let’s Get The Show On The Road” got the show started and 19 songs and a “Drums” jam later the huge intermission-free performance drew to a close with a cover of “North.” Between the set opener and closer, WSP mixed takes on such well-received originals as “Gradle,” “Hatfield,” “Action Man,” “Pilgrims” and others with covers such as NRBQ’s “Flat Foot Flewzy,” Talking Heads’ “City Of Dreams,” Tom Waits’ “Goin’ Out West” and a mid-set, back to-back-to back offering of Neil Young covers with the rarity “Last Dance” following the tour’s first rendition of “Don’t Be Denied.”

After the roughly 167 minute set, the show and September portion of Panic’s Fall Tour came to end with their arrangement of “Expiration Day” and a cover of Traffic’s “Dear Mr. Fantasy.” The band returns to the stage on October 21 for the the first for three nights at The Riverside Theater in Milwaukee to begin the October leg of their tour.
