Fruit Bats served as the musical guest on Tuesday’s Late Night With Seth Meyers. The project’s mastermind, Eric D. Johnson, was backed by a full band for a remote “The Balcony” performance.

“The Balcony” appears on The Pet Parade, an album Fruit Bats released last Friday. Josh Kaufman produced The Pet Parade, which begins a celebration of Fruit Bats’ 20th year.

Johnson’s band for his Late Night performance included drummer JT Bates, bassist Mike Lewis, guitarist Jeremy Ylvisaker and keyboardist Bryan Nichols. “‘The Balcony’ is a song about patience in isolation, waiting for the world to change while staring out at an empty street,” Eric D. Johnson stated when the single was released.
