Fruit Bats primary member Eric D. Johnson recently recorded a solo set for Jam In The Van. The three-song session began with a pair of songs off the recently released Fruit Bats album, A River Running To Your Heart.
The 10th Fruit Bats album, A River Running To Your Heart was released by Merge Records on April 14. The follow-up to 2021’s Pet Parade was the first Fruit Bats album self-produced by Johnson. The 11-track release was recorded with engineer Jeremy Harris at Panoramic House in Stinson Beach, California.
Recorded during last month’s SXSW conference in Austin, Texas, Johnson’s Jam In The Van solo acoustic guitar performance kicked off with the A River Running To Your Heart single, “Rushin’ River Valley.” Next came the fellow album track, “We Used to Live Here.” The JITV set concluded with “Cazadera,” which appeared on the 2019 Fruit Bats album, Gold Past Life.
With much better results than Johnson’s Worst Show Ever that he detailed on a recent episode of The Jambase Podcast, watch Fruit Bats’ Jam In The Van session below:
