Fruit Bats Share ‘Gold Past Life’ Video

In April, Fruit Bats announced they would release a new studio album titled Gold Past Life via Merge Records. Now, the band helmed by Eric D. Johnson has released a music video for the LP’s title track ahead of the collection’s official release later this week.

At the end of April, the group shared their single “Gold Past Life.” For the newly released clip, Fruit Bats presents a meme-worthy video that draws on cheesy ’80s visuals. Constructed as a promotional video for B-roll film company The B-Roll Boys, the group crafted a series of their own stock roll footage, then strung them together as a narrative with subtitles. To complement the release and continue the gag, Fruit Bats also shared a statement from the B-Roll Boys:
