Formula 5 Launches Kickstarter For New Studio Album

Upstate New York jam act Formula 5 has launched a Kickstarter campaign to help fund their third studio LP. In just four days the band reached 20 percent of their $12,000 goal.
Due out in Spring 2017, the band’s new album will mark the first studio release for both bassist James Woods and keyboardist Matt Richards. Along with guitarist Joe Davis and drummer Greg Marek, the quartet plans to record the follow-up to 2014’s Edging On Catastrophe in January in Albany, New York.
“I look forward to the process of arranging songs we have performed live many times, and how that will be different from the process of adapting our new songs from the album to their live arrangements,” said Richards. “In a live setting, you have to perfect your arrangement of a song during the performance. You are limited by what arrangement you can perform in a singular moment. In the studio, your arrangements aren’t limited by what you can perform at one moment. That greatly increases the number of possible arrangements for a given song.”
The Formula 5 Kickstarter campaign runs through December 14. Follow this link to contribute.
