Foo Fighters contributed a performance of “Times Like These” to last night’s Celebrating America inaugural special. The band dedicated “Times Like These” to “all of our unshakable teachers that enlighten our nation’s kids every day.”
Celebrating America was broadcast Wednesday night on various television networks and websites. The event came in honor of President Joe Biden and Vice President Kamala Harris’ inaugurations on Wednesday afternoon. Bruce Springsteen opened the special with a performance of “Land Of Hopes & Dreams.”
“This year our teachers were faced with unprecedented challenges, but through dedication and creativity, they faced those challenges head on,” Foo Fighters frontman Dave Grohl said before the performance. Grohl’s mother, Virginia was a public school teacher for 35 years. Fittingly, Foo Fighters were introduced by kindergarten teacher Mackenzie Adams.
Foo Fighters originally released “Times Like These” on their 2003 studio album, One By One. It’s become one of the rock band’s most beloved songs. Watch Grohl and company’s performance of “Times Like These” from Celebrating America below:
