Foo Fighters made a surprise appearance at a concert held on Sunday in the parking lot of Hollywood’s Palladium. The band worked a number of rarities into their set at the event, which came as part of a promotion of the upcoming Cal Jam 18 festival.
As per a Billboard report, Foo Fighters’ performance was billed under the pseudonym “The Holy Shits” and witnessed by “several hundred fans.” Those in attendance had a chance to take photos with the throne Dave Grohl used in 2015 while recuperating from a broken leg as well as the limo featured in the band’s “White Limo” video.

Foo Fighters’ drummer Taylor Hawkins took the stage first with his Chevy Metal cover band. The group worked through eight songs including takes on “Bitch” by The Rolling Stones, The Knack’s “My Sharona” and Queen’s “Tie Your Mother Down.” Chevy Metal’s set also featured Queen drummer Roger Taylor sitting-in on “Under Pressure.” Grohl came aboard for the Faces’ classic “Stay With Me.”
Grohl and the rest of Foo Fighters then proceeded to play a nine-song set heavy on rarities along with an “Everlong” encore. The band opened with “White Limo” and would go on to dust off There Is Nothing Left To Lose track “Gimme Stitches” for the first time since 2008, “Weenie Beenie” from the band’s self-titled debut for the first time since 2014 and “Low” from One By One for the first time since 2015. Yesterday’s Foo Fighters set also included the return of “Alone + Easy Target” after a three-year layoff and “New Way Home” after nearly four years as per Setlist.FM.
Cal Jam 18 will take place October 5 – 6 at Glen Helen Regional Park in San Bernardino, California featuring performances from Foo Fighters, Tenacious D, Garbage, Silversun Pickups and more.
