One day after announcing the Halloween release of Everybody Scream, Florence + The Machine unveiled the outrageous title track from their first new album in over three years. The lead single arrived with an accompanying video directed by Autumn de Wilde.
Florence Welch spent the past two years writing and producing the follow-up to 2022’s Dance Fever. Welch brought in several collaborators to work on Everybody Scream, including IDLES' Mark Bowen, Aaron Dessner and Mitski.
Welch’s recovery from lifesaving surgery she underwent during the Dance Fever Tour led her to explore spiritual mysticism, witchcraft and folk horror as she confronted her body’s fragility and redefined what it means to heal. The album examines womanhood, partnership, aging and death, revealing the shadows hidden in ordinary life.
