Flight Of The Conchords Confirm Tour In 2016

Back in January it appeared comedy-rock duo Flight of the Conchords would reunite to tour together later this year. In a new interview with Jemaine Clement he confirmed new shows are in the works with his partner Bret McKenzie, just not until 2016 it appears.

In an interview with Consequence Of Sound, Clement reiterates that plans were in the works for a tour this summer but his involvement in filming Steven Spielberg’s adaptation of Big Friendly Giant by Roald Dahl delayed the reunion until likely next year. Clement told CoS:

We were planning on doing it this summer, but then I ended up doing The BFG instead. So it’s my fault we didn’t do it this time. But we are hoping to announce a tour. We’ll announce it before the end of the year, hopefully, and then some time next year get on the road … after we get some new guitar strings and that sort of thing.

Clement also recently spoke with Indiewire where he confirmed he and McKenzie were in the midst of writing a feature length Flight of the Conchords movie, though the project is still in the very early stages of development.
