Last month, New Zealand comedy duo Flight of the Conchords revealed they are coming to North America this summer for a lengthy tour. Today, Bret McKenzie and Jemaine Clement have announced the addition of five shows to their already ambitious Summer Tour which includes an appearance at this year’s Newport Folk Festival in Rhode Island.

The newly-added dates are for shows at Portland, Oregon’s Keller Auditorium on June 25, Mountain View, California’s Shoreline Amphitheater on June 28, the Bass Concert Hall in Austin on July 10, NYC’s Forest Hills Stadium in Queens on July 20 and a visit to L.A.’s Greek Theatre on July 26. Tickets for the new shows go on sale this Friday, April 1 at 10 a.m. local. Flight Of The Conchords’ tour begins at the State Theatre in Cleveland on June 11 and is currently slated to end at L.A.’s Greek Theatre on July 27.

The original press release heralding the tour included word Jemaine and Bret have new material which they will perform as part of the tour. “I’m thrilled to get back on the road with over half the original band,” McKenzie quipped.
