The Mac is Back: Fleetwood Mac To Tour in 2009

The rumours have been circling for months, and today we learn the Mac is officially back. The supergroup has once again reunited and Fleetwood Mac will kick-off their tour at Pittsburgh’s Mellon Arena on March 1, 2009. As one would expect, the tour will coincide with a new greatest hits compilation named Unleashed that will offer a few previously unreleased tracks and never before seen footage.

According to Pollstar.com, the band released the following group statement: “We love our band and think the title of the tour, ‘Unleashed,’ perfectly describes how we all feel when we get on stage together, especially in 2009. We’re so happy to get back out on the road, perform everyone’s favorite songs and see our fans.”

While there has been no official word on the lineup, one assumes that Fleetwood Mac is Lindsey Buckingham, Stevie Nicks, Mick Fleetwood and John McVie. Christine McVie left the group in 1997.
