Exclusive Video Premiere: Organ Freeman Performs ‘Don’t Eat Your Fingers’ At Red Rocks

Los Angeles-based trio Organ Freeman lived out a dream when they played the famed Red Rocks Amphitheatre in Morrison, Colorado back in May. JamBase is pleased to premiere professionally-shot video of a song from the group’s set in advance of Organ Freeman’s appearance at the Peach Music Festival in Scranton, Pennsylvania on Sunday.
The band’s regular lineup features guitarist Erik Carlson, drummer Rob Humphreys and organist Trevor Steer. When Humphreys was unavailable for Organ Freeman’s set supporting the Disco Biscuits at Red Rocks on May 27, they called Turkuaz drummer Michelangelo Carubba. Michelangelo stepped in and helped the band impress at the historic venue.
Here’s what Trevor Steer had to say about Organ Freeman’s Red Rocks debut and performing with Michelangelo Carubba:
“Performing at Red Rocks had been the #1 item on my bucket list for almost 10 years, so naturally it felt pretty special to be offered the chance. I’ve never played anywhere in the world that inspires such a feeling of reverence as you get with those massive cliffs looming over the audience. Unfortunately, Rob had to miss out due to some unforeseen circumstances, so we resolved that (rather than let it hinder our show) and we would take the opportunity to make this a special performance worthy of the venue.“We had spent two months on the road with Turkuaz in early 2017 and developed a really amazing bond with them. The number one thing we look for when looking for musicians to sit in with us is that they play with guts, so naturally, Michelangelo Carubba was at the top of our list. Thankfully, he was just as excited about teaming up as we were. A lot of our music is very specifically arranged, which can make it difficult for someone to come in and make the set their own, but he managed to put his stamp on things and take the songs in directions we hadn’t explored before. We had a blast with him, and hope to collaborate more in the future. Thanks again to Red Rocks & the Disco Biscuits for having us, and to the Colorado fans in attendance who were fantastic as always.”

One of the songs the trio played at Red Rocks was the anthemic “Don’t Eat Your Fingers,” the lead single from their 2017 sophomore studio album Respect My Art. Watch professionally-shot footage of “Don’t Eat Your Fingers” from Organ Freeman’s Red Rocks set:
