Chicago sextet Umphrey’s McGee has teamed with TourGigs to release UM At The Tab documenting the band’s historic five-night New Year’s Run at The Tabernacle in Atlanta that spanned December 30, 2014 – January 3, 2015. The new video release features every original UM played during the run and today we’re pleased to premiere video of a cover of R.E.M.’s “It’s The End Of The World As We Know” the group busted out on January 3.

Umphrey’s McGee first covered R.E.M.’s “It’s The End Of The World As We Know It (And I Feel Fine)” on the final night of Mayan Holidaze in 2012. That evening – December 20, 2012 – was the final night of the Mayan calendar’s 13th Bak’tun which some predicted would be the final night of civilization. Thankfully, life as we know it continued, but the band had some fun with the prediction by debuting R.E.M.’s 1987 smash. The cover remained on the shelf until the final night of UM’s New Year’s Run at The Tab. After a span of 217 since Mayan Holidaze in 2012, the six-piece wrapped up their first-ever five-night run with “It’s The End Of The World As We Know It (And I Feel Fine).” Take a look:
