Exclusive Premiere: Kitchen Dwellers Collaborate With Anders Beck On ‘Colder Nights’

On April 21, Montana’s Kitchen Dwellers will release their second studio album, Ghost In The Bottle. The bluegrass act tapped Andy Thorn of Leftover Salmon to produce the LP and the 11-track effort features a variety of special guests including Twiddle’s Mihali Savoulidis, Anders Beck of Greensky Bluegrass, Little Feat’s Bill Payne and Tim Carbone of Railroad Earth. JamBase is pleased to premiere the latest single from the album, “Colder Nights.”
Lead singer and banjo player Torrin Daniels tells us about the song, “The general idea behind ‘Colder Nights’ is the realization that most of the time the only thing holding us back from achieving our goals is ourselves. The narrator is attempting to leave his current situation and start anew but is inevitably hindered in his progress by old habits and relationships. This recording features Anders Beck on dobro as a guest player, and I think he really enhanced the feel of the song. This tune has an overall lonely, dark, sort of wintery feel to it and I think the dobro really helped to bring out the melancholy feeling of the song.”
