Exclusive Premiere | Brass-A-Holics – Theme From Lupin The III
By Scott Bernstein Oct 2, 2013 • 7:35 am PDT

A few months back we heard New Orleans’ Brass-A-Holics cover of “50 Ways To Leave Your Lover” by Paul Simon and were intrigued by the band’s sound. Brass-A-Holics have been around since 2010 and in that time have pioneered what they describe as the “go-go brass funk” genre. Basically, they weave the brass band tradition of New Orleans with Washington, D.C.’s go-go groove.

The eight member band (Winston Turner, Tannon Williams, Matt Clark, Jason “Slick” Slack, Keiko Komaki, Robin Clabby, Rickey Caesar and Dwayne Muhammad) is set to release the full-length I AM A BRASS-A-HOLIC on October 29 and will celebrate with an album release party at NoLa’s Republic. This morning we’re pleased to premiere a track off I AM A BRASS-A-HOLIC. Check out the group’s interpretation of “Theme From Lupin The III,” which was originally composed in the late ’70s by Yuji Ohno as the theme of a Japanese manga series:
