An Evening Of Respect To Celebrate Otis Redding Initial Lineup Revealed

As previously reported the legacy of soul legend Otis Redding will be celebrated with a special concert to be held at the famed Apollo Theater in New York City on January 25. An Evening Of Respect To Celebrate Otis Redding comes in honor of the 50th anniversary of the release of “(Sittin’ On) The Dock of The Bay.”

Whoopi Goldberg will host for the evening’s festivities with The Dap-Kings serving as the house band. Today the show’s organizers have revealed the first set of performers that will help honor the late singer. The initial group of performers features Warren Haynes, Marcus King, Preservation Hall Jazz Band, Otis Redding III, Dexter Redding, Ty Taylor (Vintage Trouble) and Jussie Smollett. The remaining guests for the night will be revealed via a rolling announcement as CEG Presents has encouraged fans to check their website through December 18 to get the full lineup, with additional surprise guests expected at the Apollo.
