An Evening Of Respect To Celebrate Otis Redding To Be Held At Apollo Theater

The legacy of Otis Redding will be celebrated at a concert to be held at the famed Apollo Theater in New York City on January 25. An Evening Of Respect To Celebrate Otis Redding comes in honor of the 50th anniversary of the release of “(Sittin’ On) The Dock of The Bay.”

Whoopi Goldberg has been tapped to host the concert. The Dap-Kings will be the house band to back performances by musicians that Otis both influenced and collaborated with during his legendary career. Look for special guests to be announced soon. Other participants will take part in the event that organizers cannot reveal.

Tickets go on sale via Ticketmaster on Tuesday, November 28 at 10 a.m. All proceeds will benefit The Otis Redding Foundation.
