Longtime collaborators Eric Krasno and Ross James revealed they’ve put together a supergroup to create new music. The pair posted a picture along with the caption “new music in the works…” in which they’re joined by Goose guitarist Rick Mitarotonda, Dawes co-founders guitarist Taylor Goldsmith and drummer Griffin Goldsmith as well as keyboardist Adam MacDougall (Dawes, Circles Around The Sun, Chris Robinson Brotherhood).
Eric Krasno has become thick as thieves with Dawes and helped the band put on their recent Concert For Altadena benefit. Ross James, a member of The Terrapin Family Band, has also played several gigs on bass with Krasno and drummer Alex Koford under the Jimi’s Dead moniker.
Another connection in the new ensemble comes between Mitarotonda and the Goldsmith brothers. The siblings have made multiple appearances with Goose dating back to the band’s inaugural FRED The Festival in 2021. Last summer, Dawes accepted Goose's challenge and covered “Animal” at Park City Song Summit.
As for now, little is known about what the six musicians are cooking up. The photo of the group was shot in Topanga, California. Hopes are high for live gigs and an album. Stay tuned!
