Soulive and Lettuce guitarist Eric Krasno will soon release a new solo album Blood From A Stone on July 8 via his Feel Music Group/Round Hill label. Krasno also shared the guest-filled album’s first single “Waiting On Your Love.”

The new 10-song set for the first time features Krasno recording vocals. The guitarist moved from NYC to Maine to hold writing sessions with Dave Gutter from Rustic Overtones, penning most of the record over the course of a few days and recording in Gutter’s barn with Krasno’s Lettuce band mate Ryan Zoidis.

“I’ve been writing songs with vocals for other people for a while,” Krasno said. “With these songs, we initially wrote them thinking others would sing them, so when I was in the studio with different artists, sometimes I’d introduce one of the tracks and they’d record it, but it wouldn’t necessarily work out. Eventually, I realized it was because I’d written these songs for myself.”

Guests on the record include guitarist Derek Trucks, as well as members of Soulive, Lettuce and The London Souls. The Wall Street Journal premiered “Waiting On Your Love,” which you can stream below:
