Bassist Reed Mathis will soon bring his Electric Beethoven project featuring drummer Jay Lane (Primus, RatDog) as well as keyboardist Todd Stoops (RAQ) and guitarist Clay Welch out East for a series of shows that starts with an appearance at Catskill Chill on Friday. The band will prep for the run with a free show at the Ivy Room in Albany, California tonight, just minutes from Berkeley in the East Bay.
Electric Beethoven is expected to take the stage around 8 p.m. and will “lift the kimono and show you the process behind loading two complete Beethoven symphonies with improvisational CDM (‘classical dance music’) jams.” Reed Mathis will release Beathoven on September 30 via Royal Potato Family.
