Dummy released a new music video featuring the companion singles, “Blue Dada” and “Opaline Bubbletear.” The two tracks are seamlessly sequenced in order on the Los Angeles-based band’s upcoming new album, Free Energy.

Dummy — the foursome consisting of Alex Ewell, Emma Maatman, Nathan O’Dell and Joe Trainor — will release Free Energy on September 6 through Trouble In Mind Records. The album serves as the follow-up to the group’s 2021 debut album, Mandatory Enjoyment.

Two of the 12 tracks on Free Energy feature saxophonist and close friend Cole Pulice. The instrumental “Opaline Bubbletear,” described as “a characteristically Dummy ambient improvisation,” is one of the tracks featuring Pulice’s sax.

“Opaline Bubbletear” segues into the focused form of the hard-driving “Blue Dada.” The two songs can be heard together in a video directed by Maatman and starring Los Angeles-based performer and artist Camirin Farmer. Watch and listen below:
