Chris Thile Honors Dr. John On ‘Live From Here’

Chris Thile performed a tribute to Dr. John, who died last week at the age of 77, on Saturday’s episode of Live From Here. The host of the public radio program led a rendition of the New Orleans legend’s classic, “Right Place, Wrong Time.”
Saturday’s broadcast took place at Lousiville’s Iroquois Amphitheater. Thile was supported by his Punch Brothers band mate Noam Pikelny on banjo and his Nickel Creek band mate Sara Watkins on vocals as well as Bryan Sutton on electric guitar, Shaun Martin on piano, Eric Doob on drums, music director/bassist Mike Elizondo and violinist Brittany Haas. Dr. John had a hit with “Right Place, Wrong Time” back in 1973 when it was issued a single from his album, In The Right Place. Watch Thile lead the tribute to Dr. John below:
