Dopapod shared pro-shot video of their take on “Weird Al” Yankovic’s “Albuquerque.” The cover was part of their “Al-oween” performance at Denver’s Cervantes’ Masterpiece Ballroom on Saturday, October 29.

The tribute to the King Of Satire included such “Weird Al” classic parodies as “Eat It” (Michael Jackson’s “Beat It), “My Bologna” (The Knack’s “My Sharona”), “Gump” (Presidents Of The United States Of America’s “Lump”) and “Amish Paradise” (Coolio’s “Gangsta Paradise” via Stevie Wonder’s “Pastime Paradise”). Dopapod also fit in a handful of their own songs as well as a few Yankovic originals.

For the finale of their main set, guitarist Rob Compa led his bandmates through “Albuquerque.” Yankovic released the original song on his 1999 studio album, Running With Scissors. Compa did an admirable job delivering the mix of spoken word and sung lyrics that form the song. Keyboardist Eli Winderman took Rob’s spot on guitar for “Albuquerque.”
