Twiddle welcomed members of Dopapod during their Thursday and Friday night concerts at Apple Valley Park in LaFayette, New York. Saturday saw Aqueous guitarist Mike Gantzer guesting while Sunday featured members of both Aqueous and Dopapod joining Twiddle to help close out their four-night run in Upstate New York.

Twiddle’s Friday set at Apple Valley kicked off with “Amydst The Myst” followed by a segment of classics in “Jamflowman” and “Frankenfoote.” “Brown Chicken Brown Cow” then prefaced a pairing of “White Light” and “When It Rains It Pours,” the latter containing teases of Phish’s “Wading In The Velvet Sea.” A cover of the reggae-tinged Led Zeppelin tune “D’yer Mak’er” would count as the penultimate song of the set before opening band Dopapod’s Rob Compa (guitar) and Eli Winderman (keyboards) joined in to close out the set with “Latin Tang,” which was prefaced by a tease of Vanessa Carlton’s “A Thousand Miles.” “Latin Tang” featured Winderman manning Twiddle keyboardist Ryan Dempsey’s rig while Dempsey switched over to keytar.

Saturday got underway with an extensive seamless section beginning with the piano prelude “Enter” before heading into the song’s companion off the band’s 2017 28-song collection Plump (Chapters 1 & 2). The segment also contained Twiddle’s “Apples” which encompassed a cover of the Lipps Inc. disco cut “Funkytown.” Twiddle would finish up the set with “Honeyburste” before welcoming Gantzer on guitar for the two-song encore which got underway with Twiddle’s “Slippin’ In The Kitchen.” Mike would stay on for the final song of the evening, a cover of Bob Dylan’s “All Along The Watchtower.”

Twiddle’s four-night finale on Sunday started out with “Peas And Carrots” ahead of the vintage Twiddle tune “Gatsby The Great,” which featured a tease of Phish’s “Harry Hood,” as per Phantasy Tour. Gantzer would come back out to help Twiddle close out the set with “Milk.” For the encore, Gantzer and his Aqueous bandmate guitarist/keyboardist Dave Loss joined on guitar. Compa would also emerge for a superjam encore performance of the Grateful Dead’s “Shakedown Street,” which additionally featured Aqueous drummer Rob Houk hopping on the kit mid jam, to bring the run to a fitting close with members of both opening bands.
