The Disco Biscuits Debut New Song ‘Scars Of The Brave’ & Bust Out ‘Mirrors’ In New Jersey

The Disco Biscuits returned to Sayreville, New Jersey this weekend for a two-nighter at Starland Ballroom. Friday’s concert featured the full band debut of their new original song, “Scars Of The Brave” and Saturday’s show saw the reemergence of “Mirrors” for the first time since 2016.

The Starland Ballroom shows were the final two nights of Bisco’s Bubble Tour. The first set on Friday was bookended by “Confrontation” with “Who’s In Charge” and the premiere of “Scars Of The Brave” played in between. “Scars Of The Brave” was performed by tDB guitarist Jon “The Barber” Gutwillig and keyboardist Aron Magner at their March 7 “mostly acoustic” show at Tarrytown Music Hall.

Set two on night one took a similar shape as set one, with “Basis For A Day” opening and closing the set. Two songs were sandwiched between “Basis” appearances, inverted versions of “Digital Buddha” and “Fire Will Exchange.” The first night of the run ended with a “We Like To Party” encore.

According to the Biscuits Internet Project setlist database, 418 shows had been performed by the Disco Biscuits since the last time “Mirrors,” which opened Saturday’s first set, made one of the band’s setlists (June 1, 2016). The unexpected opener was trailed by “Shem-Rah Boo” into “Photograph” into “Orch Theme.” The set ended with ending section of “Save The Robots.”

The beginning section of “Save The Robots” got the second set up and running. The rest of the set was filled in with “Little Shimmy In A Conga Line” encapsulating “The Deal” and “Tourists (Rocket Ship).” The weekend in Slayerville was capped with an encore composed of “Postcard” and “To Be Continued.”
