Jamtronica pioneers The Disco Biscuits rang in 2016 on Thursday night at the PlayStation Theater in New York City’s Times Square. The quartet presented a three-set show with the final stanza including tDB providing a live score of the 1982 movie Tron.

The first set started with classics “Little Lai” and “7-11” leading up to a “Shelby Rose” > “The City” > “Shelby Rose” sequence to end the opening stanza. When the band returned for the second set they used “Hot Air Balloon” as the basis for a New Year’s Eve countdown. tDB stopping playing for a few minutes as the crowd celebrated the start of 2016. “Helicopters” then gave way to the first versions of “Feeling Twisted” and “Pimp Blue Rikkis” since 2011. “Spaga” closed out the set complete with a “The Final Countdown” intro from keyboardist Aron Magner.

A screen was setup in front of the band for the third set on which scenes from Tron were displayed. The Disco Biscuits provided a jamtronica soundtrack for the film with their own signature sound. The Disco Biscuits return to the PlayStation on Friday night.
