The Disco Biscuits worked a number of rarities into the final two nights of a three-show run at The Caverns in Pelham, Tennessee on Saturday and Sunday. Saturday’s concert also included the band’s first inverted “Caterpillar.”
“Resurrection” saw action for the first time since December 14, 2019 to kick off Saturday’s show. The livetronica quartet jammed “Resurrection” into a cover of Men Without Hats’ “Safety Dance” led by guitarist Jon Gutwillig. “Sound One” emerged out of “Safety Dance” and the band capped the seamless set with “Orch Theme” and “Digital Buddha.”
The Disco Biscuits opened Saturday’s second set with a standalone “Spectacle.” Next, “The Overture” bled into “Hero” before the four-piece served up their first inverted version of the Marc Brownstein penned classic “Caterpillar.” The recently debuted “Evolve,” written by keyboardist Aron Magner, followed before the Disco Biscuits ended the set by covering Pink Floyd’s “Run Like Hell.” The band punctuated the evening with a “Once The Fiddler Paid” encore.
“Floodlights” was revived after more than three years on the shelf to start last night’s finale at the underground venue. The Disco Biscuits then left “Little Betty Boop” unfinished as they jammed into “The Great Abyss.” Old-school favorite “Shem-Rah Boo” bled out of “The Great Abyss” ahead of a set-closing “Above The Waves.”
“Confronation” bookended the second set on Sunday. The Disco Biscuits went without a break throughout a frame that continued with the first “Tribulations” since July 13, 2018. The LCD Soundsystem cover was followed by the recently debuted “Lake Shore Drive,” which gave way to an unfinished “Down To The Bottom.” Next came “Anthem” before “Lunar Pursuit” led into the end of “Confrontation.” The Disco Biscuits said farewell with a “We Like To Party” encore.
