The Disco Biscuits rang in 2025 with a hometown New Year’s Eve concert at The Fillmore in Philadelphia. The foursome chose a “Fire & Ice” theme for the celebratory three-set performance that featured debuts of a new original and a thematically-fitting cover song.

Guitarist Jon Gutwillig, bassist Marc Brownstein, keyboardist Aron Magner and drummer Allen Aucoin started the show wearing jumpsuits depicting flames. Set one was constructed of songs referencing “fire,” like the opener “Rockafella” with the lyric “Campfire outside against the cold.”

Bisco followed with “Spaga” and completed the set with “Above The Waves” and its “Corrinado swam like hell on fire” lyric surrounding a inverted version of “Fire Will Exchange.” Pyrotechnics blasted from the stage during the fiery first set.

Set two cooled down with a collection of “ice”-based songs and a band-wide change of wardrobe to ice-inspired matching jumpsuits. “Tourists (Rocket Ship)” launched set two and featured Magner adding “Ice Ice Baby” by Vanilla Ice samples.

“Floes” was next with Magner sampling Phish’s “Tweezer.” The band then segued into “Freeze” with samples of “Cold as Ice” by Foreigner and synthetic snow falling in the vene. An inverted “Kamaloe Sands” kept the set rolling toward midnight.

As they lurched toward the countdown, the Disco Biscuits debuted their techno-arrangement of the Game of Thrones theme, “A Song of Fire & Ice.” The countdown to 2025 was soundtracked by a new Bisco original, “Philly Fire And Ice” and followed by “Helicopters” and its customary altered lyrics referencing the New Year.
