The Seattle-based group recorded their ninth studio album with producer Rich Costey in Los Angeles. Thank You For Today marks the first album from the band established in 1997 in Bellingham, Washington without co-founding member Chris Walla. Co-founding frontman Ben Gibbard, bassist Nick Harmer, drummer Jason McGerr and touring guitarist/keyboardist Dave Depper and keyboardist/guitarist Zac Rae played the LP’s lead single “Gold Rush” during their stop at The Ed Sullivan Theater.
