The music world continues to pay their respects to the late Chris Cornell, who tragically passed away last month. The latest act to honor the Soundgarden frontman is Death Cab for Cutie, who fittingly paid tribute to Cornell last night during a benefit show at the Paramount Theatre in Seattle.
The all-acoustic show in support of the ACLU and Planned Parenthood featured Death Cab co-headlining the night with The Decemberists, and also featured a set from singer-songwriter Sera Cahoone. Ben Gibbard & Co. offered up a number of deep cuts from early in their career with “Photobooth,” “405” and “A Movie Script Ending” alongside some of their more well-known material like “Black Sun,” “I Will Follow You Into The Dark” and “Soul Meets Body.”
Prior to DC4C offering up their debut version of Soundgarden’s “Fell On Black Days,” Gibbard expressed some thoughts on Cornell declaring, “What an unbelievable talent he was, and what a fucking insane singer.”
