Shortly after returning from a run of three Ween shows that included a marathon performance in Minnesota, a bust-out filled set in Chicago and the first International gig of the reunion, guitarist Mickey “Dean Ween” Melchiondo uploaded audio of a pair of covers Ween played a decade ago to his YouTube channel.
Up first is a blistering version of “Hey Bulldog” by the Beatles featuring a spot-on guitar solo from Dean Ween. Ween covered “Hey Bulldog” five times between July 21 and August 3 during Summer Tour 2006 according to Brownbase. Check out the audio Deaner shared:
The second cover shared by Dean today is audio of Ween tackling “Let Me Roll It” by Paul McCartney & Wings. Gene Ween wails on the vocals on a song the band is thought to have played just three times with each rendition coming between August 31 and September 17, 2006.
