Dawes held a concert on Wednesday night at Denver’s Ogden Theatre. Current area resident Paul Hoffman of Greensky Bluegrass dropped in on the show and sat in on a performance of “Quitter.”
Dawes frontman Taylor Goldsmith ceded lead vocal duties on “Quitter” to Hoffman, who took the stage without his mandolin. The song was recorded by Dawes for their 2016 album, We’re All Gonna Die. Hoffman emerged during the second set after Goldsmith kicked off the second half of the show with solo acoustic performances of “House Parties” and “St. Augustine At Night.”

Greensky Bluegrass debuted their cover of “Quitter” at the same Denver venue back on January 12, 2018. Seven additional versions followed with the most recent taking place at The Anthem in Washington D.C. on January 28, 2023.
Dawes’ tour in support of their album, Misadventures Of Doomscroller, continues tonight in Salt Lake City. A livestream of Dawes’ Denver show is available on-demand for nugs.net subscribers. Watch Paul Hoffman’s sit-in with Dawes last night in Denver below:
