This Friday, Seattle rockers Pearl Jam will be among those inducted into the Rock & Roll Hall Of Fame at a ceremony held at Barclays Center in Brooklyn. While Neil Young was supposed to induct Pearl Jam into the Rock Hall, he will be unable to do so. As such, retired talk show host David Letterman has stepped up to induct Eddie Vedder & Co. on Friday.

“Due to illness, Neil Young is regrettably no longer able to induct Pearl Jam at this Year’s Induction Ceremony,” the Rock Hall said in a statement Wednesday shared by Rolling Stone. “The Rock and Roll Hall of Fame is thrilled that David Letterman has agreed to induct Pearl Jam this Friday night at the 32nd Annual Induction Ceremony.” No further details on Neil Young’s condition have been revealed.

As Rolling Stone notes, Pearl Jam performed on Letterman’s Late Show seven times including a 10-song performance for the audience at the Ed Sullivan Theatre in 2006. Vedder also appeared solo on The Late Show with his 2015 take on “Better Man” among the last musical performances during Dave’s term as host. HBO will air the induction ceremony on April 29 at 8 p.m. Tupac Shakur, Joan Baez, Journey, YES and ELO are among the other acts that will be inducted on Friday night.
