David Gilmour Shares 1st Episode Of ‘Three Different Ones’ Podcast

David Gilmour shared the first episode of his podcast Three Different Ones. The three-part series focuses on instruments played by the former Pink Floyd guitarist on some of the legendary band’s most well-known songs.

In the first episode Gilmour discusses his famous black Fender Stratocaster, the instrument that played the first four chords of the legendary “Shine On You Crazy Diamond.” Gilmour shares the story of the theft of Pink Floyd’s equipment in New Orleans in 1970, which led to the purchase of the black Stratocaster at Manny’s music store in New York City. Gilmour states “it’s certainly earned its keep,” while describing the recordings he used the guitar on.

The series of podcasts with Matt Everitt is releasing ahead of a charity auction set to be held with Christie’s in New York City on June 20 where more than 120 of Gilmour’s guitars will be auctioned. Listen to the first episode of David Gilmour’s podcast Three Different Ones below:
