London’s Earls Court hosted its last concert on Saturday night, when British band Bombay Bicycle Club performed at the famed venue which will soon be demolished. Bombay Bicycle Club welcomed a very special guest to share the stage as Pink Floyd guitarist David Gilmour made a rare live appearance on one of the group’s originals as well as “Wish You Were Here.”

Gilmour emerged to play lap steel on Bombay Bicycle Club’s “Rinse Me Down” and then strapped on an acoustic for a stirring rendition of “Wish You Were Here.” BBC guitarist Jamie MacColl introduced Gilmour by saying, “This man gave me my first guitar and was one of the first people to play this venue and by my count has played here more than 27 times.” We just hope Gilmour’s appearance is the first of many he’ll make in the coming months as he is expected to release a solo album in 2015 and may tour behind it.
