David Gilmour shared his first new music in five years with “Yes, I Have Ghosts.” The new tune features harp and vocals from David’s daughter, Romany Gilmour.
While the legendary Pink Floyd guitarist wrote the music for “Yes, I Have Ghosts,” his wife, the novelist Polly Samson (who is Romany’s mother), penned the lyrics. Samson — who has written lyrics for David Gilmour solo as well as Pink Floyd — based the lyrics on her latest book, A Theatre For Dreamers. The notes accompanying the music video for the new Gilmour family collaboration detailed the song further.

The inspiration for the track was the new novel A Theatre for Dreamers, by Polly Samson, who also wrote the lyrics. The song has previously only been available as part of the ground-breaking audiobook for the novel. Set on the idyllic Greek island of Hydra in 1960, A Theatre for Dreamers captures the hazy, sun-drenched days of an expat bohemian community of poets, painters, and musicians, including a 25 year-old Leonard Cohen.
