David Byrne Appears On ‘Fallon’
Watch Byrne lead the 'American Utopia' cast through "Like Humans Do" and chat with Jimmy Fallon.
David Byrne stopped by 30 Rock as a featured guest on Monday’s episode of The Tonight Show Starring Jimmy Fallon. Byrne and his American Utopia cast mates from the musical’s run on Broadway performed “Like Humans Do” after the Talking Heads co-founder sat for an interview with host Jimmy Fallon.
Jimmy started the chat by discussing the famed big suit that Byrne wore in the legendary Talking Heads concert film Stop Making Sense. Talk then turned to how the 69-year-old musician wrote songs from a rental car. Other topics discussed were David’s new book of drawings, A History Of The World (In Dingbats) and the modified version of American Utopia presented when members of the production tested positive for COVID-19.
“Like Humans Do” was among songs added to the altered production entitled American Utopia: Unchained that ran at Broadway’s St. James Theatre between December 28 and January 2. David Byrne originally released the song on his 2001 solo studio album, Look Into The Eyeball.
